British Museum exhibit on Hajj

The British Museum in London is hosting a four month long exhibit on the Hajj, opening January 26, 2012. Their website is asking for people to submit stories about their most memorable Hajj experiences. Presumably some of these will make it into the exhibit. Interestingly the curators have been traveling to Saudi Arabia in search of artifacts to borrow for the exhibit (as reported in The Independent here). I find that somewhat odd/ironic - at least given how hostile Saudi Arabian authorities are towards historical artifacts of a religious nature, as described in detail in this Islamica Magazine article by Irfan Ahmad.
