Kashmir

In August 2006 i accompanied Shenaaz Janmohammed, a graduate student at the University of Michigan, to the Pakistan side of Kashmir where a devestating earthquake had struck a year earlier. Shenaaz asked me to help her with a project called Photovoice, in which children who survived the quake were taught photography skills as a means of dealing with trauma that they had experience. I learned a lot on this trip. It was the first time I traveled and photographed in three different formats, digital, 35mm film and 6x6 medium format. There are a lot of pictures here but well worth the look. Also you can watch a short video documentary about what we did here.
